Credit crunch, petroI prices, food bills!!! I don’t think I really want to hear any more bad news, so maybe I should just take the kids away for the day and forget all about the constant press announcements telling me that the value of my home has gone down and the cost of my mortgage has gone up. That is until I read an article in the Sunday Times last week which added up the cost of a family going out for the day to visit some of the UK’s more popular places such as Thorpe park, London Dungeons, Longleat etc which in some cases came out at over £300 for the day!

So the prices keep going up but one thing that will never change is the dilemma of how to keep the kids happy, especially with the summer vacation looming over the horizon. The cost of entertaining those little darlings might be going up but the demand is always there, but lets not get to down beat, the summer is now here and life is for living, so below are some tasty alternatives to wet your whistles

One area that has seen prices decrease in the past few years has been the cost of owning and running a Swimming pool. From the larger pool to the fun summer pools.

In the family fun range, for the approx same price for a family day out you can kit yourself out with a nice size Intex Swimming Pool or Bestway pool with heater, Solar Cover and enough Chemicals to keep you going for the whole summer. Using the Solar Sun rings instead of a heater will also reduce the running costs.
